Emmeline Rose joined our family on 11/5/13 at 9:18am weighing 8lbs 4oz and 20" of loveliness.
This was a VERY difficult pregnancy for me, which made this moment all that much sweeter!!
Emme is our first baby that didn't have to go to the NICU so she got to ride with me from the OR to recovery and take her bath right there in my room - such a treat!
She had so many visitors there ready to love on her.......
Grandma and Grandpa:
Mimi and Papa:
Aunt Kristen:
Maggie, our nanny:
Aunt Angela:
But most excitedly, Isaac and Audrey:
Emmeline was even sweet enough to bring her big bro and big sis a little gift. How thoughtful of her.
They came to see her every day in the hospital.
My Jeffy and his three kids that look just like him. I'm 0 for 3.
Uncle Brad made it back in time from a business trip to catch her in the hospital too:
Have I mentioned this girl has a full head of beautiful black hair? Not my mom, Emmeline ;) It was the talk of the OB ward!
Proud parents for Emme's first selfie right before we busted out of the hospital.
Going home!
And Aunt Laura (with A, I and E's very first cousin on board) and a surprise visit from Uncle Tom rounded out the family greetings once home:
Emmeline means "work"and is a medieval name and seemed refreshing given the super popularity of Emma and Emily. And we knew we wanted to name our baby girl with an "E" name. We thought it was fun to stick with vowels and Olivia and Ursula just weren't doing it for us. We went in to the hospital armed with 4 really good and unique E choices and decided before we left the OR that Emmeline was the winner for this black haired beauty! Rose is tribute to Jeff's grandmother, as Emme is her 24th great-grandchild, amazing.
My aunt and godmother sent these adorable little bags of delicious cookies for our brood and visitors. All of our little vowels :)
