Little Helper

Isaac wanted to help Jeff put together a bookshelf we ordered.  His idea of helping was to shred every inch of styrofoam he could get his hands on.  Pretty sure I'll be finding little pieces under chairs and rugs for weeks!

The Taurus Child

I came across this horoscope for the Taurus Child this week and it stopped me in my tracks - who peeked into the personality of my son to determine what babies born under the sign of the bull must be like?!! Seriously, this is Isaac in a nutshell (his attachment to 3 (yes, 3!) security blankets, his great love of food, the impossiblity of getting him to come indoors, his dedication to feeding Molly, even his obsession with playing with credit cards in his own wallet and paying the clerks every time we go to the store......and DO NOT try to tell him we're in a hurry!):

About the Taurus Child
Built for Comfort, Not for Speed

Salt of the earth -- that's your Taurus child in a nutshell. Even as infants, these children are sweet, affectionate, and cuddly. They also tend to be strong and hearty. Introduce your baby to the great outdoors as early as possible -- the young Taurus thrives in a natural environment. Older Taurus children often enjoy having a small garden, houseplants, or animals to care for, and they're quite diligent in their duties. Children of the Bull experience the world through their senses: They like the way things taste, feel, sound, and smell. In fact, from the moment they're born, they love to eat. Even when young, Taurus children are practical and good with money. A primary need for Taurus folks of all ages is security. Small Taurus babies like to be swaddled and held, which makes them feel safe. Some Taurus children are clingy, while others develop an attachment to a security blanket or hoard their possessions. Let your love be their haven. Taurus children aren't hurried. In fact, they're downright slow -- which you as a parent will need to adjust for in your scheduling. Don't pack too many activities into a day, and don't expect your Taurus child to pick up the pace. It's just not going to happen.

Little Fishes

This summer we started Isaac in Little Fishes Swim School.  It's survival swimming for young children.  Isaac has always had such a love of the water so we wanted to take it one step further than the "fun" swim classes we've done before.  These classes are teaching him the basics of survival swimming.  There are only 5 kids in the class and it's in a saltwater pool kept at 90 degrees.  He's only had 3 sessions and already is gliding under water and floating a little on his own - its incredible!

Here is a link to video of Isaac's first glide under water!

Happy Father's Day!

Isaac worked very hard making his daddy a nice card for Father's Day this year.  With each passing month Isaac becomes more and more like his daddy.  They are 2 peas in a pod.

Grandma and Grandpa Brown came up to celebrate the day and we had brunch in the park with Uncle Brad and Angela.

Dinos at the Botanical Gardens

On Saturday we took Isaac to see the new dinosaur exhibit at the Botanical Gardens.  Isaac's most favorite things these days are dinosaurs, trains, cars and tools.  His birthday cake had a giant dino on it!  He's obsessed.

2 Years Old

I've been wanting to move from our babyjellybeans.com website to an easier to update blog for awhile now and decided the milestone of Isaac turning 2 was the perfect time to do it! As Isaac gets older, finding time to do things like update our friends and family on the goings on of our lives seems more and more difficult. 2 full time working parents and one energy filled toddler makes for a very tired family at the end of each day! Hopefully this new format will make it quicker and easier to share pictures of our ever-growing little man.  Here's a few favorites from the spring.....
