Wisconsin x2.

The last 2 weekends were spent in my favorite state of the union.  Even if it was cold and mostly rained!  I did land a nice case of laryngitis, but its a small price to pay for 2 great trips!

Weekend #1 at good old St. Norbert with my girls.  Love.  We have gotten together every single fall since we graduated 10 years ago.  The last 2 girls weekends have included matching tshirts - why not?!  Girls Weekend 2013?.....STL!!  Yes!

I took the kiddos with me to WI and left them with Mimi and Papa for a weekend of fall fun!

Weekend #2 in Milwaukee for my dear cousin AJ's wedding!  What a beautiful event and some wonderful family time.  When I think about it there is no one in the world that I have known longer than Amanda (well, besides my parents, obviously).  We were born 1 day apart and she is very special to me.  I was honored to read in the ceremony - and laryngitis thought it could stop me, ha!  Congratulations Charles and Amanda!

St. Norbert College

I'll give you 3 hints to guess where I will be this weekend:

1 - think 1998-2002
2 - think fighting green knights, Abbey bar, Saturday football, crisp fall leaves, dormatories
3 - think beer

Did you guess?  That's right folks, 10 year college reunion/homecoming with my besties from SNC!!  Bring it.  It will be just like 2002 again.  Except we're in our mid-thirties and don't all live in the same house (or state, or country for that matter).  And we have mortgages and SUVs.  And the 9 of us have 12 kids and 2 baking.  And we probably won't make it to the after parties with red solo cups.  And we probably won't get kegs and eggs.  And we don't own pleather pants.  And if I had to re-live one night of college partying I'd probably die.  But I'm willing to overlook all of that and be those people that the current 20-22 year olds see in the old college bars and laugh at.  I could care less.  Because little do they know that in 10 years they'll spend an entire year planning their pilgrimage back to DePere, WI to re-live their glory days, jumping at the chance to be carefree and responsiblity-less for a couple of days.  And they'll get their hair cut for the first time in 8 months in preparation.  And they'll wear matching t-shrits too (or maybe not, probably just us!).  Jacks, Shan, A, Nik, Mare, Tams, Stephy and Lizzie - see you tomorrow :)

Fun in JK.

Isaac has had a couple of very special days in school in the last week.  They are working on their "All About Me" unit.  Last week they asked Jeff to come in and talk about how the heart works in the body.  Isaac could not have been more proud of his daddy.  The kids thought it was awesome and told Isaac that his dad is "cool".  We already knew that ;)

And each kids gets a chance to bring home the All About Me box and fill it with 4 of their favorite things to help share how God made them each unique and special.  They also include a baby picture they post on a bulletin board with a current picture.  Today was Isaac's day - I got to go watch.  Isaac thought long and hard and chose to bring his new stuffed elephant because he loves elephants.  And his yard work gloves because he has spent the entire summer doing yard work - he loves it!  He brought a little tractor because he loves to ride tractors at Grandma and Grandpa's farm, and loves the farm.  And lastly, wait for it, you'll never guess...batman.  Because he lives for superheros.  Obviously.  A very nice collection to sum up the little dude.  He was overjoyed to share!

And then he gets to use the megaphone to spell his name in "give me an I" fashion!  At the end he says "what's that spell?"  The class yells "Isaac" and he yells "one more time!"  Ha.

And then he got to choose 5 friends to represent the letters in his name and help them stand in line to spell it correctly.  He did great!  What a little love.
